GLRA Update on the South Wokingham Distributor Road (SWDR) Infrastructure Project

Big changes are coming to Wokingham!

Construction on the South Wokingham Distributor Road (SWDR) is set to begin in the coming weeks, and while the project promises to improve traffic flow around town, we know there will be disruptions for nearly two years during the build.
At our recent Annual General Meeting, it was clear that residents are concerned about how the construction will impact daily travel, from road closures to detours. We're listening, and we’re committed to keeping you informed about how footpaths, cycleways, and road traffic will be affected.
We’re also working closely with the SWDR Team and WBC Planners to ensure that the new routes and infrastructure support our growing community. As plans for additional housing and facilities take shape, we’ll continue to act as a conduit between residents and the council, pushing for transparency and clear communication.
